Christmas Hoops

By Zoo
Orlando 88 New Orleans 68.

The Orlando Magic completely destroyed the New Orleans Hornets in every aspect of the game. They had more points, rebounds, steals, assists, blocks, 3's and free throws. It was a balanced Magic offense that did in the punch less Hornets. Hedo led the way with 20, Rashard had 18, Jameer 14, Dwight 12 and Michael 11.

This game was so lopsided that Orlando decided to go scoreless for over 7 minutes in the fourth quarter and still win by 20.

The REAL Game of the Day

San Antonio 91 Phoenix 90.

The Suns jumped out to a 11-0 lead in the blink of an eye. But with just over 8 minutes left in the 4th quarter the game was tied at 79. Phoenix is a good team but the Spurs just have their number. Phoenix got a Grant Hill lay up with 4 seconds left to go up by 2 but against San Antonio that meant they would just lose a heart breaker. And that is just what Roger Mason provided as he hit a 3 as time expired.

The Spurs led for less than 3 minutes of the entire game and still won. YIKES!!!

GAME OF THE DAY!!!

L.A. Lakers 92 Boston 83.

Pau Gasol did something in the 4th quarter only Santa though he could do. Produce in the 4th quarter of a big game. Pau was L.A.'s best player in the 4th quarter leading the Lakers in stopping the best record start to a season in NBA history. With the game tied @ 81 Gasol scored 7 straight points and that was all she wrote. This game meant more to L.A. than to Boston and they played that way. Kobe led L.A. with a game high 27 and K.G. led the C's with 22. These teams meet again in Boston on Feb. 5th and me thinks the outcome will be much much different.

My Predictions: 2 wins 3 losses.

N.O. over Orlando ... the Magic scored 27 points in the entire 2nd half and won by 20. Byron Scott may have some explaining to do soon if this keeps up.

Spurs over Suns ... S.A. owns Phoenix. PERIOD.

Boston over L.A. ... I guess Gasol and clutch is not an oxymoron.

Cleveland over Washington ... it took a late rally but the Cavs came through with the surprisingly close win.

Portland over Dallas ... Dirk spent his Christmas pummeling every Blazer defender in his way. Roy could not match his effort and that was that.

Ballin!!!
Mo Williams, Cleveland - 24 pts, 6 asts and 3 rebs.

Disgraceful!!!
R. Butler, New Orleans - 0-7 fg. 0 pts in 25 minutes.

Dominant in Defeat!!!
Amare Stoudemire, Phoenix - 25 pts, 13 rebs, 3 asts and 2 blks.

Stu Parkerwow. after reading this blog....You are spot on. I do not deny Kevin Garnett's ability as a player but HATE the BS stuff he does...All negative crap.
This is a very unfair article. Garnett is an Olympic Gold Medalist, an MVP, an ALL STAR MVP, an ALL NBA member and an NBA Champion... you know how many current players can say that? 2 others (Shaq & Kobe) and they are all considered among the best players at their respected positions in the HISTORY of basketball. The same should be said for K.G.

RaThis is blasphemy. I hope a Celtics fan did not write this article.
KWAPTHow old is that clip of KG? C'mon..of course that was a punk move, but what was that, 10 years ago? It's simple: KG is a fierce competitor who uses intimiadation and mental toughness to strike fear in the heart of his opponents. If he is on your team, you LOVE him. If he is not, you may loathe him. But either way, he is a great player. You cannot deny that.
AlexWow, now we are going to call an Olympic Gold Medalist, an MVP, an ALL STAR MVP, an ALL NBA member, an NBA Champion, a player that has more 20-10-5 seasons than Larry Bird, Defender of the Year (2008 and most likely, this year) overrated? Hmm, right now I'm kind of smelling a bit of jealousy mixed with stupidity in this article.
TweedsterThis blog is poorly written, scattered and incoherent. Thankfully, someone else already tackled the inconsistencies and leaps of logic. Check it out hear: http://celticshub.com/2009/10/22/did-you-hear-kg-is-overrated/
TweedsterSome actual statistics, and not just conjecture and strange conclusions based on the number of 'chips KG has. http://www.celticstown.com/is-kevin-garnett-clutch.html
SPron campbell must love the Lakers. Or the Cav's. Or the Magic. but he doesn't know @$@@ about basketball!
Ed The Sports FanI'm sorry, there's no way in life Allen Iverson isn't in the starting 5, especially ahead of Nash. Give a damn about MVP's, Iverson's done more with much much MUCH less and totally revolutionized the game. Other than that, I think your decade team is cool. -Ed.
Lebron is the KingThe way you analyzed your stats is flawed. If your saying Bird is better because he hits more 3 pointers, scores more, and passes more, your wrong. Bird had exceptional teammates which explains some assists. Now Bird was a great 3 point shooter and you said Duncan was a "center playing a power forward". Now if he does this, why would you bash it? All it shows is how versatile Duncan is in his position on the court. Duncan although not a flashy player, showed dominance under the goal. Duncan didnt need to pass because he could school anyone under the goal. Duncan is better because he has more rings. End of story. And to your comment on "We will never see another Larry Bird." Well we see a better one now, he goes by Ray Ray.
