The last day for humanity is swiftly approaching! Run for your lives!!! 12-21-2012 (which is my Birthday by the way) is the “end of days” according to the Mayan calendar. To prepare yourself for this upcoming apocalypse, go and see the light hearted, family friendly, disaster movie, “2012” . That is if you have almost three hours to spare.

I went into this movie knowing what to expect, well except for the massive length of it, so I didn’t come out disappointed. The effects are stellar; the cast is good, the acting good, the story line lame, and the ending anti-climatic. I mainly went for John Cusack and the effects. I love disaster/post apocalyptic movies so I was pretty excited about this one and any time I get to watch John Cusack in action is usually time well spent.

The creators of the film found a way to make the death of billions of people seem like no big deal. They kept things light hearted and sarcastically fun. There were lessons to be learned; don’t cheat on your boyfriend/boss, don’t be greedy, don’t get fake boobs. Just like in horror movies, those with questionable morals will be punished severely. As the story became more and more impossible to believe the effects just got bigger and louder.

I want the Bentley from the movie…and one of the Giraffes…..I recommend seeing this in theaters if you are a fan of action and effects. Just use the restroom first, because with a running time of 2 hours 38 minutes, if you don’t, you are going to wish you did.

Tonight I’ll be taking in the 12:01am screening of “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” ….Hopefully I can keep my name off of the sex offender registry by not drooling over the underage werewolf…It’s a sick, scary thing (just kidding). I’m also super psyched to see “Precious: Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire” , tomorrow. I’ve got a crazy horror movie at the house from Netflix that I will fill you in on next week. Anyone out there looking forward to seeing “Ninja Assassin” on Thanksgiving like I am? It looks killer!!!
