Today I feel like talking about really, really gross movies. I mean REALLY gross…

Ichi The Killer is directed by Takashi Miike, who has generously provided us with such awesome movies as Hostel, Audition and the unbelievably twisted Visitor Q. Now I grew up watching horror movies but this movie has so much blood and gore in it, even I was shocked. One of the main characters sports a “Glasgow Grin” that he fastens together with safety pins (Yes, his picture on the cover is why I rented this DVD). People are being slashed to bits in almost every scene. This movie is insane! If anyone knows where I can get a pair of boots like the ones Ichi wears, please let me know. The story is good, the acting is good, the action is good and the effects are over the top. Why are you still reading this, you should be renting this movie right now!

Another Miike classic I previously mentioned, Audition, is sort of like Fatal Attraction on acid. It’s a little drawn out in the beginning, but trust me, stick with it, cause once this crazy train starts to get going, you don’t want to miss it. This movie has it all, family, friendship, love, ballet, fun new ways to use acupuncture and people living in burlap sacks…..
If you are still here I have another really, really, really, gross movie that you may not want to see, unless you are one of those people who like to see how much you can take before you start to dry heave. “Two Girls One Cup”, anyone? Anyway, this one is called Feed and it stars Alex O’Loughlin (who came onto my radar when he did a stint on one of the best TV shows ever, “The Shield”). It’s an Australian film about a website that shows live feeds of morbidly obese women
being fed and people bet on their death dates, weight, etc all live on the internet. A cop finds the sight and becomes obsessed with tracking down the killer. The acting and storyline aren’t the greatest but if anyone can sit through this entire movie without gagging even once, well kudos because I couldn’t.

If anyone out there has seen any of these movies, please feel free to leave comments and/or feedback. They are so odd and disturbing they really need to be discussed. So let’s discuss….
Oh and one more little blurb about crazy people and movies. The director of the movie “American Psycho”, Mary Harron, recently did an interview where she talked about Christian Bale. She said that Bale used Tom Cruise as the inspiration for his murderous Patrick Bateman character. Now that’s pretty freakin’ hysterical!
