LEBRON JAMES KING or COURT JESTER?
By Ron Campbell
12/07/09

On Friday Night things got heated between Joakim Noah of the Chicago Bulls and Lebron James of the Cleveland Cavaliers. Noah appeared to take offense to Lebron dancing at various points throughout the Cavs 101 to 87 victory over the Bulls.

Lebron Dancing

Joakim Noah has words for Lebron James

After the game Noah was quoted as saying the following:

"When you're losing the way you're losing and guys are rubbing it in your face, dancing and all that," Noah said. "I have a lot of respect for LeBron. It's just a frustrating situation."

Lebron James went a bit too far on Friday. I understand dancing before the game to get yourself and your teammates excited but dancing during the game sends a clear message to the other team; I am not worried about you guys and I am just going to dance for my own personal amusement. I respect Noah's actions. Somebody needed to stand up to Court Jester James. In the post game interview Lebron continued to take jabs at Noah which were totally uncalled for. After the game Lebron was quoted as saying the following:

"It's nothing against the Bulls and it's nothing against Joakim or none of those guys," he said. "It's nothing about showboating on a team. I've seen it happen all last year. I think he [Noah] was more frustrated about the way he played as an individual. He didn't help his team win."

Lebron is a top five player in the world, what does he have to gain by berating Joakim Noah? Lebron's comments and actions are childish and immature. The media has him on a pedestal so we are not going to hear much more about this story but imagine if Allen Iverson, Carmelo Anthony or Ron Artest had done the same thing I am sure it would be a different story.

jonathan Dec 7 2009 11:05AMI couldn't agree more. Every year I say "i'm going to give this guy a shot, i'm going to root for him." and every year it's the same thing, I just can't jump on that ban wagon. I tend to like the players who behave as business as usual, with supreme confidence like Jordan did. The guys that exhibit that same level of class like Kobe, Wade, Melo, KG, Iverson. Lebron is what he is, a very talented overly hyped classless clown. I think the question that needs to be asked is why is this acceptable by the league. Remember last season all the T's for players throwing there head bands in frustration? Fast forward to today and the continued destruction of the NBA at the hands of one of the worst commissioners any league could have and commentators that can't get off the ban wagon.
@flickorDec 7 2009 12:44PMLeBrOn needs to win a ring before he has the right to dance, i never remembered Jordan dancing like a jackoff
Raps FanDec 7 2009 12:47PMCouldn't agree with you more. I wish LeBron got popped in the head.
Vic De ZenDec 7 2009 12:50PMLeBron is being foolish. You read what Dwyer said in BtB this morning?
ReizanDec 7 2009 1:17PMI agree with Jonathan I try to give Lebron a chance but he constantly proves me right and he brings out the worst in his teammates when you see them dancing around during games and laughing.I thought Shaq would teach Lebron the discipline to become a true idol in this league but since hes "The King" he gets a free pass.Thats why he won't be regarded as a pioneer like MJ,Larry Bird,Magic Johnson, and so on cause hes not putting in the works to be a real team leader and an example to kids watching the NBa.
Vee VeeDec 7 2009 10:40PMOnce again I have to agree. The NBA is truly going to hell. Lebron would never be able to get away with this behavior if it were the 80's. Trust me on that. He's allowed to get away with whatever he wants. Because as the commentators and media worshippers alike think he needs to time. He's been in the league 7 years. They love to comment on his age. GMAB! Age has nothing to do with the way Lebron carries on. It's time David Stern realize that Lebron antics will continue as long has he's given the rope to do so. And his teammates just follow right along with his bad example. It's apparent the Cavs haven't learned anything from all this dancing and celebrating. They were home in June. Just like they will be again this year. Mark my words. LOL! But seriously. Lebron was seriously taunting. I don't care what words came outta Lebron's mouth. Action's speak louder then words. Don't worry I see him getting knocked out in the near future. He's had it coming for awhile.
Magic MikeDec 8 2009 4:42PMI don't see anything wrong with it. At a time when athletes are in the news for for all the wrong reasons, adultery, gun charges, DUI etc., why are we so quick to ostracize this young man (23 years old) for having fun? Let's defend Tiger and Plaxico Buress for their but NO WAY WILL WE TOLERATE DANCING DURING AN NBA GAME. YOU GUYS ARE THE REAL JOKE HERE!

JonathanDec 8 2009 6:50PM@Magic Mike Are you serious, really are you serious? First of all why are you comparing adultery, gun charges, DUI's ect. to this? You are assuming that we as adults are to ignorant to know the difference between criminal acts and unprofessionalism. Notice how you are comparing apples to oranges in defense of your boy no matter how ignorant it makes you look while calling us a joke. It's easy, when you act like an ass and conduct yourself on the court during a game you deserve to be "ostracized." Your he's only 23 excuse doesn't hold any weight ether. Why, because as long as there are younger players in the league living their childhood dream "having fun" in the NBA and NOT acting like a clown makes this a sorry excuse. Where did you read anyone on here defending the guys you mention. You obviously aren't a fan of the sport or you would have been more educated on the history of how players generally conduct themselves on court. The real joke is Lebron; no rings, no reason to dance.
Magic MikeDec 8 2009 7:20PMListen CLOWN. Basketball is a game. It is not real life. This game has no real impact on your day-day life so please don't get so emotional. Anyhow, any "educated" person could easily see my comparison as an attack on the media and not necessarily as a direct attack on your ego, I mean opinion. "Continued destruction of the NBA???" This is why I called you a CLOWN. So maybe he should just pound his chest, drop F bombs left and right, rack up technical fouls and act like the rest of the professionals in the league...CLOWN
JonathanDec 9 2009 8:53AM@Magic Mike I was going to just let your comment slide, you know just chalk it up to stupidity on your behalf...... but. "Listen CLOWN. Basketball is a game. It is not real life." your second dumbest statement, you seem to be full of these dumb oddities. Basketball is a sport played by real people in real life. You obviously play way to much virtual basketball. LOL! It's not that no one could see your comparison it's just a dumb comparison. Had you compared his actions to lets say TO then you would have sound less ignorant. My ego has nothing to do with the topic, we're talking about your boy Lebron's ego. The fact the you see no difference in tasteful displays of celebration ie. pounding your chest and Lebron's dancing like an old time black face skit is ridiculous. No he's not supposed to drop F bombs and rack up technical fouls, how about this he's supposed to play basketball. Like I said before you've made it clear you've never played an organized sport a day in your life I gather. do yourself a favor before you ignorantly respond again, don't take it personal just do this one thing. Google sportsmanship or better yet look it up in the dictionary. You aren't a clown just dumb.
jonathanDec 9 2009 8:54AMone last thing. Yes the coach needs to be fired. This stuff has been going on for at least the last 2 years and he has nothing to show for it. this team will never have a ring with this coach.
ZooDec 9 2009 12:27PMI agree with jonathan... Mike Brown is an AWFUL Head Coach and this team will NOT win a title with him on the bench.
