It was a wild 24 hours for some teams...
Dallas forward Dirk Nowitzki had a 4th quarter for the ages leading his team to a comeback victory at home against the Utah Jazz. A day later he fouls out scoring just 12 points on 4-15 shooting in an overtime loss to the New Orleans Pauls. Despite this stink bomb, Dirk Nowitzki is among the best players in the game today.
The Boston Celtics on Tuesday night were embarrassing a playoff contender in their own gym. They ended up beating the Sixers by 31 points. Last night the C's needed a huge defensive play from future Hall of Famer Kevin Garnett to secure a 2 point win against the lottery bound Minnesota Wolves . Who was the Wolves leading scorer you ask? Well the immortal Oleksiy Pecherov with 24 points.
The Phoenix Suns ran their record to an impressive 4-0 on Tuesday night with a win in Miami over the previously undefeated Heat. Steve Nash was looking like his 2 time MVP former self (30 points and 8 assists) and the Suns were evoking visions of their offensive juggernaut past. 24 hours later Nash was held to 12 points and 4 assists by the Orlando Magic and the Suns were on the wrong end of a 22 point decision.
And for some things remained the same...
The Denver Nuggets were coming off of an 18 point win on Tuesday in Indiana when they traveled to meet up with winless New Jersey . By the time it was all said and done the spread was 28 and the Nets remain winless. I am not going to say Devin Harris is the 2nd coming of Isiah Thomas, but there is just no way the Nets already thin roster can compete with a playoff contender without him.
The L.A. Lakers won two overtime games in back to back road wins at Oklahoma City and at Houston . In the 2 games Kobe scored 72 points and Andrew Bynum had 39 points and 27 rebounds. With a healthy Pau Gasol, however, these OT thrillers could easily become 20 point laughers.
