AROUND THE NBA

THUNDER VS. CLIPPERS
The Clippers molly-woped the Thunder last night and already I got a ton of calls from friends telling me that the Clippers are the best in the West. First of all Thabo Sefolosha didn’t play and James Harden started in his place which caused a the second unit to be completely discombobulated. Harden was real confused too, he played the most minutes of the season (42) and only finished seven points on 2-8FGM-A.

Second of all the Thunder are on pace to have home court throughout the playoffs and as sick as the Clippers look they have had a cupcake schedule playing 12 of their 18 games at home. The Clips are only 2-4 on the road and play seven of their next eight on the road so we are going to find out how good they really are in the coming weeks.

One positive thing I will say about Clips is that there three guard lineups with Chris Paul, Chauncey Billups and Mo Williams is really dangerous.

MELO
I have been on team Carmelo ever since he won the NCAA championships and a lot of people have thrown him under the bus as of late. I have heard that he is not the player we think he is, he is selfish, New York Post even went as far as to imply Melo purposely skipped last Fridays game against the Heat.

My patience is running thin with Melo too but I have to remind myself that the Knicks do not have a point guard, Mike D’Antoni is running a playground offense and Amare Stoudemire has totally checked out. Amare is averaging 17.7ppg his lowest in six seasons and shooting 43% from the field.

RONDO
Rajon Rondo missed his seventh straight game this Monday with a wrist injury he suffered at the hands of Linus Klieza but could be back later this week according to ESPN.com. I really think the NBA needs to consider creating a rule that if a player is injured by another play due to a flagrant foul that player, who committed the flagrant foul, should not be allowed to play until injured player returns to action. It’s not fair that the Celtics are without Rondo while Linus Klieza is allowed to play.
