The Clippers nixed the latest deal for Chris Paul. Eric Gordon, Minnesota’s unprotected number one pick, Chris Kaman , Al-Farouq Aminu and Eric Bledsoe was way too much for Chris Paul and his bad knees. I am not sure what the NBA is looking for here the trade to the Lakers wasn’t a bad deal at all. I thought a core of Emeka Okafor, Lamar Odom, Luis Scola, Kevin Martin would compete for a playoff spot.

It’s either Eric Gordon or Minny’s pick both is a little unfair and if anything could leave the Clippers in terrible shape come the off-season if Chris Paul decided not to stay.

The Clipper won a waiver bid for Chauncey Billups who was amnestied by the Knicks. They think Chris Paul will like the idea of playing alongside an aging point guard.

ANSWERS
I was very confused by the Celtics aggressive shopping of Rajon Rondo but Steve Bulpett of the Boston Herald reported the following:

According to multiple sources, Rondo’s errors were being pointed out when he arose and began discussing the mistakes of his teammates. Loudly. Using harsh language. Coach Doc Rivers got up and fired back, and Rondo threw a bottle that shattered the video screen. He bolted from the practice facility and was prevented from returning when he tried later.

VINSANITY

I am very surprised Vince Carter is headed to the Mavericks, I am not sure what Mark Cuban is thinking with this one. This looks like a move the Cuban of 2004 would make not the savvy 2010 Cuban who decided Tyson Chandler would be better than Al Jefferson for the Mavericks. Vince just does no, cannot and will not deliver. This will be his fourth team in four years and I am pretty sure this will be his last stop.

WEST

On Friday it looked like David West and the Boston Celtics were close to agreeing on a deal but it ended up falling thru. This was very disappointing to Celtic nation as this was the second time, in less than a week, that we thought we had a marquee player coming to town and the deal falls through. I was upset but not surprised the Celtics have never in my lifetime acquired a big name free agent. The Celtics have historically built their teams thru the draft and trades. The only players we have convinced to come here are veterans well past their prime. In other news the Celtics signed Sasha Pavlovic. Sorry Celtics fans but the window is closed and we have a long road ahead of us but we had 2008.

KARDASHIANS

Lamar Odom was traded for a future pick and a trade exception. I am sorry but I got to laugh the Lakers did Lamar wrong. He took a lesser contract to stay with the Lakers won the sixth man of the year award and wasn’t even traded for another player. Like last week Doc Rivers said Rajon Rondo should be a flattered to hear his name in trade talks and Odom was traded for a trade exception.
