When Brook Lopez came out of Stanford I felt he was a much underrated prospect. Lopez was drafted 10th overall in the 2008 NBA draft by the New Jersey Nets. After a stellar rookie campaign things have been downhill for Lopez ever since.
Lopez’s scoring and rebounding numbers increased from his rookie year to his second year but Lopez’s Nets managed to only win 12 games and frankly I hold Lopez responsible for his team’s dismissal season. Lopez should have taken more ownership of his team’s performance, he should have attempted to lead either vocally or by example and I don’t believe he did either.
Now Lopez has checked himself out of World Championships in Turkey saying that he has not fully recovered from “Mono.” This is the first time since freshman year in high school where I have heard of anybody having a case of mono. Hey Brook why don’t you and Robin stop playing kissing games and work on your basketball game.
