Week In Review
By Godfather

The Media is at it again, Bill Walton in particular is making a case for Rajon Rondo to be an All-Star this season. I like Rondo but he has some pretty stiff competition. Dwayne Wade and Allen Iverson are going to be your starters and that leaves three reserve guard slots to fill. Devin Harris should actually be starting and Joe Johnson is lock. Leaving one other guard spot. Rondo is playing well, but is he playing better then Vince Carter, Ray Allen, Mo Williams and Mike Bibby? It will be tough for Rondo to make it, he may actually be a year away. However, this is another example of why fan voting needs to end. Every year it seems we go thru this. Every year there is one guy out there who knows deep down inside he has no business being here. Ask Grant Hill and Vince Carter how they felt those years when they should not have been there never mind starting. This year it will be Allen Iverson. He is a legend, but he is not an All-Star this year.

The Boston Celtics try to continue their reign of dominance as they go for their 17 straight win tonight against the Chicago Bulls. The Celtics are taking no prisoners, beating everyone in their path. Their last three contests were their toughest during the streak. Last Friday night they made the Hornets look like the Butterflies, Monday they gave the Jazz the Blues and Wednesday they made the Hawks look like dirty street pigeons. By 9:45 p.m. EST tonight, we will be calling the Chicago Bulls, the Chicago Bunch of losers. Everybody is looking towards the Christmas Day game against the Lakers as a legitimate chance for them to lose. Will they make the Lakers look like the Fakers? We will have to wait and see.

Speaking of Lakers, Stephon Marbury had a courtside view for the Knicks vs. Lakers match up on Tuesday night. Starbury was gracious enough to give an interview and stated his banishment from the team was good for him from a business standpoint. You got to admire his arrogance. I actually don't blame him, D'Antoni and the Knicks handled the situation poorly. The Knicks lost to the Lakers by 1 point after leading for the first 47 minutes of game. It is tough to lose a game after you did everything right for the first 47 minutes. It was a rough couple of days for D'Antoni. The previous night he made his first return back to Phoenix after the messy divorce last summer. He received a warm welcome from the Phoenix faithful. Once the emotional return ended, the Suns went on to do whatever they wanted to do to the Knicks. The Knicks actually made a game of it, but Shaquille O'Neal of all people sealed the deal for the Suns at the foul line. Nate Robinson is coming into his own averaging 29 ppg in the back to back losses.

Last week I mentioned how Joe and Gavin Maloof were getting ready to hit send on the email, subject titled "Your Fired" to Reggie Theus until some how they were able to steal a victory against the Lakers. Well after Saturday's loss against the Knicks, guess whose cell phone was ringing in the locker room? Rumor has it the Maloofs fired Reggie Theus after calling him on his cell phone. Reggie Theus then received another phone call from Security asking him to get the **** out. HA HA, imagine if that really happened?

Brandon Roy made the leap from star to Super Mu$$af$$king Star, as he personally slowed down Phoenix's new look fast break scoring 52 devastating points in front of his home crowd. I'm not going to lie, I really wasn't buying into the Brandon Roy hype, but he is the real deal..

Games to watch heading into Weekend and my predictions:

Friday Night
Cleveland vs. Denver

This is a tough one to call, but I'm going have to go with King James on this one. Although the Nuggets seem to be clicking on all cylinders after the trade for Billups, the Cavs have an answer for them at every position. Nene will have a hard time scoring on Big Z (if he plays) and Ben Wallace, and Mo Williams will definitely make Billups work on the defensive end.

Saturday Night
Lakers vs. Orlando

The Orlando Magic are a good team, but not that good, well at least not yet. One invaluable asset the Lakers possess is length, which will allow them to get into passing lanes, rebound more effectively and just disrupt everything the Magic like to do. The Magic do have a big frontline however the Lakers are bigger, and that will be the difference in the game (if Pau plays).

Sunday Afternoon
Detroit vs. Atlanta

Come on, this is too easy. The Pistons haven't won a Sunday afternoon game all year. They will arrive in Hotlanta Saturday morning and dance the night away. Iverson and Rasheed will more then likely be struggling thru hangovers, Rip will be forcing the offense because the rest of the team is half drunk, and they will lose by 20.

Last Week's Predictions

New Orleans vs. Boston: RIGHT, I said Boston would win easily.
Orlando vs. Phoenix: RIGHT, I said the Suns would win.
Cleveland vs. Atlanta: RIGHT, I said the Hawks would end the streak

Stu Parkerwow. after reading this blog....You are spot on. I do not deny Kevin Garnett's ability as a player but HATE the BS stuff he does...All negative crap.
This is a very unfair article. Garnett is an Olympic Gold Medalist, an MVP, an ALL STAR MVP, an ALL NBA member and an NBA Champion... you know how many current players can say that? 2 others (Shaq & Kobe) and they are all considered among the best players at their respected positions in the HISTORY of basketball. The same should be said for K.G.

RaThis is blasphemy. I hope a Celtics fan did not write this article.
KWAPTHow old is that clip of KG? C'mon..of course that was a punk move, but what was that, 10 years ago? It's simple: KG is a fierce competitor who uses intimiadation and mental toughness to strike fear in the heart of his opponents. If he is on your team, you LOVE him. If he is not, you may loathe him. But either way, he is a great player. You cannot deny that.
AlexWow, now we are going to call an Olympic Gold Medalist, an MVP, an ALL STAR MVP, an ALL NBA member, an NBA Champion, a player that has more 20-10-5 seasons than Larry Bird, Defender of the Year (2008 and most likely, this year) overrated? Hmm, right now I'm kind of smelling a bit of jealousy mixed with stupidity in this article.
TweedsterThis blog is poorly written, scattered and incoherent. Thankfully, someone else already tackled the inconsistencies and leaps of logic. Check it out hear: http://celticshub.com/2009/10/22/did-you-hear-kg-is-overrated/
TweedsterSome actual statistics, and not just conjecture and strange conclusions based on the number of 'chips KG has. http://www.celticstown.com/is-kevin-garnett-clutch.html
SPron campbell must love the Lakers. Or the Cav's. Or the Magic. but he doesn't know @$@@ about basketball!
Ed The Sports FanI'm sorry, there's no way in life Allen Iverson isn't in the starting 5, especially ahead of Nash. Give a damn about MVP's, Iverson's done more with much much MUCH less and totally revolutionized the game. Other than that, I think your decade team is cool. -Ed.
Lebron is the KingThe way you analyzed your stats is flawed. If your saying Bird is better because he hits more 3 pointers, scores more, and passes more, your wrong. Bird had exceptional teammates which explains some assists. Now Bird was a great 3 point shooter and you said Duncan was a "center playing a power forward". Now if he does this, why would you bash it? All it shows is how versatile Duncan is in his position on the court. Duncan although not a flashy player, showed dominance under the goal. Duncan didnt need to pass because he could school anyone under the goal. Duncan is better because he has more rings. End of story. And to your comment on "We will never see another Larry Bird." Well we see a better one now, he goes by Ray Ray.
